He keeps the sportsters dim, bitter, and ranting.

Hahahahahahahahaha! Funny how the visually obsessed papers like Orlando and the V-P are the ones who make these mistakes! Where are all the folks who always claim: "We can obsess about design AND get the facts right!"

One of the readers points out the mistake in the comments string.

I hope to get a version of the edition with the mistake for the archives.

Same link as before, but they keep updating it.

Now we have an apology from Denis Finley. I guess it's OK, other than this part:

"We get it right 99.9 percent of the time."

Um, no. You don't.

A reader even takes the V-P to task:

The only thing I take issue with in Mr. Finley's explanation is his claim that The Pilot gets it right 99.9% of the time. There are countless errors--grammatical, factual, typographical--that just go unnoticed by The Pilot's editors--or "team leaders" as they call them.

Don't be too quick to congratulate yourself for a 99.9% error-free record, because it just isn't supported by the facts.

Of course, there's no admission as to what part the design-based approach played, but there's no sense in waiting for anyone at the V-P to confess that sin.

OK, here are the original images. I had to get these from Charles Apple's site; he lives close enough to get the print edition. Thanks, Chuck!
